EVANS Engineering Solutions is set to bring Spanish innovation to ScotPlant as it prepares to showcase its new ranges from TMC Cancela.

Specialising in the design and manufacture of heavy-duty machinery for the agriculture and forestry sectors, TMC Cancela was founded as a small, family business in 1971 and is now known globally, particularly for its mulchers.

“We’ve been very impressed,” Gareth Evans, Evans Engineering Solutions MD, said. “As a company, TMC Cancela has been excellent to deal with – and the engineering side behind it is just phenomenal; they are designed for longevity and that’s a key thing for us. We like to sell good, high-end (products) that are going to last a long time and are easy for the customer to maintain.”

TMC’s new range of mulchers is expected to draw particular attention on the Evans stand. The solutions support high-performance land clearing, firebreak maintenance, and vegetation management. Featuring high-strength Strenx steel, they excel in tough and rocky terrains.

Evans will also display models from the latest generation of Steelwrist tiltrotators and Norwegian company XploSafe’s range of high-strength safety and windowpanes. Engineered to provide protection in high-risk environments, its Polycarbonate Saphir Laminated Window recently secured ISO 21877 certification, meaning it has been tested against the impacts from chainsaw chains.

XploSafe’s innovation will be fitted to a high-spec JCB 150X HD excavator at ScotPlant, customised on behalf of East Lothian-based BM Forest & Land.

“It’s a cracking looking machine; it’s the new model 150X so it should draw a crowd,” Gareth explained, before telling of the extensive modifications undertaken on the machine to ensure its tailored for forestry and land clearance operations – including a Steelwrist XTR15 tiltrotator, making it the first in the UK to utilise such a set up.
