TRACTO-TECHNIK UK will be presenting hourly live demonstrations of its GRUNDOMAT pneumatically driven soil displacement hammer at ScotPlant 2026. The solution – often called a ‘mole’ – is used for accurate trenchless installation of underground pipes and cables.
Other solutions on display will include GRUNDOWINCH, GRUNDODRILL, and GRUNDORAM.
GRUNDOWINCH is designed for trenchless operations such as pipe bursting, sliplining, pipe and cable pulling. Its twin‑capstan cable management system protects the cable during operation, while the winch’s robust, fully enclosed design enhances safety, noise reduction, and durability.
GRUNDODRILL 18ACS is an HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) rig engineered for challenging soils, including hard rock. It features rack‑and‑pinion drive carriages for stepless torque and speed adjustment, a fully automatic rod exchange system, and compatibility with twin‑tube Elicon rods for rock drilling.
GRUNDORAM, meanwhile, is a powerful range of steel pipe ramming hammers used for dynamic installation of casing and product pipes. These horizontal rammers drive open‑ended steel pipes through the ground using high‑impact percussive force, making them ideal for trenchless crossings under roads, railways, embankments, and rivers. They can install pipes up to 4,000mm diameter over lengths up to around 80–100m, depending on soil conditions.
